The role of the media is to search for and report facts, and facts only. They should not ignore the killing of 26 people, they should focus on the killer and his mental condition and what led him to kill people, not the guns. Guns are sacred to our culture and not a one kills a person by itself. I have a few guns and none have ever killed a person. You are just paranoid, afraid of the thought that we have a constitutional right to own a gun, any kind of gun. You are not required to own a gun, I choose to own a gun, I have a right to own a gun (any kind of gun) and I don't want anybody, including the media, inciting the masses to force me to give mine up.
