Thank you Timberjay for keeping us informed! One fact is missing from this news item, a very important one. The mine is opposed to the " over the mine" option SOLELY due to the fact that the MPCA and EPA in their wisdom, have the authority to shut down the mine should an occupied vehicle become stranded, for 24 hours. The likelihood of that happening? Not very. Unfortunately, the mine runs 24/7. It does not stop producing. The environmental restrictions are why the most logical route will no longer be considered.
