Business owners like/love the tourists. If they were here year round we could retire. But they aren't so we still go to work each day. Now, do the locals who are not invested in the tourism business welcome them? Well, as Marshall said they come up here on vacation and decide to retire here. They then want to close or prevent any type of mining operation which most locals approve of. If you don't agree just look at the last local election which pitted canidates either for or against mining. You often hear of the term "612'er". When you here the term 612'er it usually is in reference to a subject that the locals disagree with. When it comes to local good paying jobs I don't think you can blame the locals for not accepting tourism with open arms.
