ELY – South Ridge spoiled the Timberwolves’ Homecoming game, shutting out Ely 12-0 here on Wednesday.
Although the Wolves defense was effective, their offense struggled. Josh Heiman led Ely’s rushing attack, garnering 114 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, Spencer Gaulke tallied 17 tackles while teammate Michael Lah recorded 15.
The Panthers’ Zach Johnson scored both of his team’s touchdowns. He reached the end zone in the first quarter on a drive that ended with Johnson’s one-yard run. Johnson scored a second time in the second quarter on a four-yard run. Both attempts at conversion points following the touchdowns failed.
The Wolves will have a home playoff game on Tuesday but their opponent won’t be decided until later today.
