Hanna resorts to his usual tactics

Bill Hanna’s front page smear against 3A candidate Bill Hansen was no surprise. Hanna is a tireless shill for the mining industry in general and for Big Copper in particular and he’s made it clear he’ll defame anyone who dares to challenge potentially damaging mining projects, such as PolyMet.

Rather than using his bully pulpit to give voice to alternative development strategies that could help diversify our region’s economy, he falsely and unfairly attacks anyone who suggests the region seek a future that goes beyond digging massive and polluting holes deep into the Earth’s crust.

Voters in District 3A have too much at stake to take Hanna’s witless advice on economic development, much less take seriously his smears against those who want to build an economy with staying power. But I’ll give Hanna credit for one thing. He got this voter’s dander up. I’ll be sure to vote Bill Hansen in next Tuesday’s DFL primary for District 3A.
