VIRGINIA—A Nett Lake man has pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder for his involvement in the stabbing death of a Virginia man on April 27, 2014.
Anthony James Isham, 44, admitted he stabbed Harley Joseph Jacka, 28, in his Virginia apartment. Jacka was targeted for the killing at the request of his girlfriend, according to St. Louis County Attorney Mark Rubin. The girlfriend, Janessa Lynn Peters, 21, of Eveleth was previously prosecuted for her involvement in the murder.
Under state sentencing guidelines, Isham faces a 30-year, three-month prison sentence. Judge James Florey, of the Sixth District Court in Virginia, is scheduled to sentence Isham on Dec. 19.
Isham is the fourth and final person involved in the slaying to plead guilty.
An autopsy revealed that Jacka had been stabbed approximately 15 times with wounds to the head, face, neck and chest. Four knives were found at the murder scene.
