Billionaires don’t get that way by being nice or looking out for other people.
How do you think they got that way?  Believing that these people are going to somehow make life better for anyone else is like believing fairy tales.
There are two reasons for firing so many federal employees:
One is to make way for another huge tax cut for billionaires.  They need to make it look like they can do that while “balancing the budget.”
The other reason is they’re going to re-open those positions and give them only to their own MAGA supporters — especially that private army of Proud Boys and insurrectionists they pardoned last month.
What scares me most is the notion that we get the government we deserve.
