REGIONAL— The suspect in last month’s murder of an Indiana woman in Beatty Township has been apprehended by authorities. Daniel Gregory Lynn was wanted in connection with the murder of Christina Marie Woods, 28, of South Bend. Lynn was also a resident of South Bend.
On July 2, St. Louis County law enforcement officials had discovered Woods’s body in a shallow grave near the west end of Lake Vermilion on property owned by a member of Lynn’s family.
Woods had been reported missing by family in Indiana, who indicated to Indiana investigators that they believed she had traveled to the Lake Vermilion area in early June.
Lynn was located and arrested on July 13 in Cass County, Michigan by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Michigan State Police.
He is being held in Michigan’s custody pending his extradition to St. Louis County to face a homicide charge.
