The Ely girls Nordic ski team won the state championship on Thursday at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, with Erin Bianco winning the individual state championship.
The Wolves amassed 419 points, defeating runner-up Robbinsdale Armstrong by 19 points.
Bianco finished with a championship-winning time of 32:20.0, defeating runner-up Anja Maijala of Cloquet-Esko-Carlton by 6.7 seconds, erasing a four-second deficit following the morning freestyle.
Emma Terwilliger earned 11th place in 33:43.1, Ryne Prigge took 18th place in 34:33.0 and Laura Pasmick finished in 29th place in 35:17.3 to clinch the team title, followed by Caroline Homer (36:54.4), Brooke Pasmick (37:21.0) and Evelyn Bercher (37:40.2).
