Ely tops Stephen-Argyle in state tournament

REGIONAL—The Ely Timberwolves have defeated Section 8 Nineman champs Stephen-Argyle in the first round of the state Nineman football championship, to advance to the winner's bracket. Ely topped Stephen-Argyle 19-14, to improve to 12-0 on the season.
Ely now heads to the semi-final round next Friday, to be held at St. Cloud State University. The T-wolves will face either Underwood or Madelia. Game time is 5 p.m.
The Timberjay will have full game details in its Nov. 6 edition, on newsstands next Thursday.
