INTERNATIONAL FALLS - It was a peculiar formula, but another win all the same.
With its perimeter game ineffective and unable to create separation early, North Woods relied on its defense to wear down host International Falls on Tuesday, emerging with a 67-46 victory.
George Bibeau led the Grizzlies offensively, pouring in 22 points, with Cade Goggleye and Brendan Parson each scoring 14.
Chase Kleppe added nine points and Tate Olson contributed six.
“We used pressure man-to-man defense to open up a close game after halftime,” North Woods head coach Will Kleppe said. “We didn’t knock down a three which is unusual for us. We still put up 67 points and went 15-of-16 from the free throw line, so it demonstrated a good team effort on our kids’ part.”
