COOK- A 59-year-old New Prague man who was discovered slumped over the side of a boat Thursday morning in the area of Norwegian Bay on Lake Vermilion was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders.
A passing boater in the area observed a male slumped over the side of a boat and in the water near the shore at around 11:30 a.m. Saint Louis County Rescue Squad, Lake Vermilion Fire Brigade, Cook Ambulance and Saint Louis County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, about 10 miles northeast of Cook, according to a Sheriff’s office press release.
The Sheriff's office identified the man as Roy Steven Larson, 59, of New Prague, MN.
The incident remains under investigation by the Saint Louis County Sheriff's Office.
