COOK- Just seven months after closing its doors “permanently,” the Montana Café is welcoming guests once again.

Megan Brodeen, after hearing that the Montana was closing, quickly jumped on the opportunity. Brodeen, who grew up in Cook, recently received a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. “It was perfect timing and I’ve wanted to have my own restaurant since I was little,” she said.

Brodeen said she will be keeping a lot of things the same, like the traditional American theme. Some menuitems, including the Montana double grilled cheese will return with the same recipe, and the café will offer many similar items like the patty melt, burgers, turkey melt, and Reuben. A new addition to the menu will be wraps. Jude Carlson, the popular breakfast cook, will be returning as well.

The café was brightened a bit with some new paint and will soon have historical photos of Cook displayed.

The Montana had a soft opening during Cook Timber Days and fully opened the following Monday. Their new hours are Monday – Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop in for a coffee, order your favorite or try something new. “We hope customers are just as excited as we are,” said Brodeen.
