New management in place at Vermilion Senior Living

TOWER— Vermilion Senior Living is now under new management, about a year and a half after the former management team took over operations of the 20-room facility located on the north edge of town.
Emily Sipola, a longtime Tower area resident and a registered nurse, was promoted to facility manager on Nov. 27. She’ll be managing the facility under the auspices of a new management company known as MN Signature Care, a small family-owned business based in central Minnesota. The current ownership of the facility remains unchanged.
MN Signature Care President and CEO Matt Pallansch said the small facility fit well with the goals of his company. “Our motto is quality care close to home,” Pallansch said. “Our goal to operate in small communities, so seniors can remain close to home.”
MN Signature Care is a small management company that currently oversees operations at six other assisted living facilities in Minnesota and saw Vermilion Senior Living as an opportunity to expand. “This facility fit our portfolio well,” said Pallansch.
The change in management did result in some staffing changes at the facility, and Pallansch said he intends to boost the level of care at Vermilion Senior Living to provide more services for residents experiencing dementia. “It’s important in small communities that that service is available because it helps keep seniors closer to family,” he added. Pallansch acknowledged that operating a smaller facility can be challenging, but he said it can be done successfully with the right staff in place.
Unlike some senior facilities, which only accept private pay residents, Pallansch said Vermilion Senior Living is open to elderly who rely on Medical Assistance or other public funding sources for their care. You can contact Vermilion Senior Living at 218-753-7788.
