Gerald Yourczek

Gerald Yourczek, 92, of Angora, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 at Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cook. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be accorded by Cook VFW Post 1757 Honor Guard and Orr American Legion Post 480 Honor Guard. Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home of Cook.

Caroline B. Kujala

Caroline Benita Barone Kujala, 67, of Mt. Iron, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the Essentia Health Care Center in Virginia after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Caroline will be cremated. There will be no immediate service, but there will be a private service and Mass for close family and friends in the spring. In lieu of cards or flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in Caroline’s name. Thank you. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia.

She is survived by her spouse of 46 years, Clayton Kujala of Mt. Iron; children, Nicholas (Alicia) Kujala of Duluth and Kristen (Chad) Duame of Cook; grandchildren, Kendal, Keegan and Addison; sisters, Pauline Barone of Mt. Iron and Corrine (Kevin) Zinter of Iron; brother, Byron (Kandy) Barone of Mt. Iron; mother-in-law, Gladys Kujala of Virginia; brother-in-law, Larry (Jane) Kujala of Britt; very special friend, Sheri Johnson of Mt. Iron; several nieces, nephews and many other loved ones and friends.

Janet F. Kivisto

Janet F. Fritz Kivisto, 82, of Babbitt, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, from complications of Primary Progressive Aphasia. Funeral services will be held in the spring. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.

She is survived by her children, Michael Dean (Anne) Kivisto and their children James and Sam Kivisto; Betsy (Howard) Israelson and their children Jonathan and Raya Israelson; John (Sally) Kivisto and their children Daniel, Jacob and Carmen Kivisto; Peggy (Bryan) Quandt and their children Craig and Kasie Quandt; Steve Kivisto and his children Gracie and Gavin Kivisto; brother, Jim Fritz; brother and sister-in-law, Pug and Joann Fish; sister-in-law, Janet Burrows; and many nieces and nephews.
