Winter driving conditions led to a one-vehicle accident near midnight on Saturday, Oct. 17 on northbound Highway 169 in Vermilion Lake Township,
A 2009 GMC Yukon driven by Jamie A. Erceg, 47, of Virginia, went out of control due to icy conditions and rolled over, coming to rest in the ditch. Erceg was transported to Essentia Health in Virginia with non-life-threatening injuries. St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, Tower Ambulance, and Virginia Ambulance assisted at the scene. The sheriff’s report states the driver was not wearing a seat belt, and that alcohol was not involved.
