TOWER- The old St. Mary’s Church is scheduled to be moved to its new location on Main Street on Sunday, Nov. 1 starting at 12 noon. The church will travel from its home on South Second, turn onto Alder, then make the turn onto Main Street. The church will then travel down Main Street and be transferred onto its new foundation.

The move was initially scheduled and permitted for Nov. 13, but delayed due to some structural damage found underneath that needed to be repaired. While the repairs were completed quickly, securing the new permits and coordinating with the cooperating utilities and MNDoT has taken time.

The permits are all in place for Sunday, Nov. 1.

Tower residents should not that power will be shut off (Minnesota Power customers) in portions of Tower on Sunday, Nov. 1 starting at 12 noon, and lasting up to three hours.

Coffee an’ will be served on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m. under the tent on Main Street.
