Been on some lakes in north Central Minnesota this week. Usually 30-36 inches of ice. This year 8-14 inches. Yes snow insulated this year,but its getting to be the norm.
I believe it was 2012,the last week of Lake Trout fishing and my brother and I were up the Gunflint fishing open water on some of the smaller lakes. Unreal.
