ISABELLA— The Greenwood Fire continued to grow on Wednesday, fueled by low humidity and a steady northwest breeze, which created active burning on the fire's southeast edge.
As of Thursday morning, the U.S. Forest Service estimated the fire at 25,991 acres.
Fire crews were hoping to hold and improve upon burnout operations conducted yesterday along Lake County Hwy. 2. A total of 476 personnel are currently engaged on the fire, including contractors and cooperators.
