America, we need to talk.
When did we get to this point where so many people are fighting for anyone to have the ability to possess any type of gun — at the expense of the lives of others?
The late Charlie Kirk once made a statement that we have an acceptable number of deaths per year we can expect from firearms in order to protect our God-given rights to own guns. We are all flesh and blood, and unfortunately, in our country, guns are more important than lives.
On the same day conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed by a gun, two high school students in Colorado were shot in school. That story was buried under Kirk’s death because that’s the norm for our students attending school — the possibility of death while learning.
Every single American is at risk of being shot at anytime, anywhere — in a red state, in a blue state, in the city, in a rural town, while grocery shopping or at the mall, in church, at a concert, a movie, walking down the street, or sitting on the front porch. This will continue on and on. It will not end until our elected officials take a stand and fight like all of our lives depend on it — because they do.
