I find it rich that while Trump claims federal employees are absent from their jobs and don’t show up, the Republican Party instructs its Congressmen and Senators not to hold public town halls — essentially, not to show up. People are unhappy with the current state of affairs. Meanwhile, Republicans sit on their hands while President Elon Musk and Trump dismantle our federal agencies — agencies that belong to “We the People.”
Republicans campaigned on reducing inflation and high prices, promising to make America affordable again. Instead, unelected Elon Musk and DOGE have bulldozed their way into numerous federal agencies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Education, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the National Institutes of Health — the list goes on. How brave of Republicans to target agencies that serve veterans, the poor, the disabled, the elderly, and children.
Some Republicans are at least attempting to hold in-person town hall meetings, and I believe everyone has a voice and a right to be heard. However, these elected Republicans — including Pete Stauber — did not run on decimating our federal agencies, and it needs to stop.
Too bad “Chicken” Pete Stauber is such a coward that he only holds tele-town halls, allowing his staff to carefully select constituents who praise him. Now that he’s back, he’s hiding out and nowhere to be found. That’s not leadership — it’s pathetic.
“We the People” challenge Pete Stauber to show up to the town hall scheduled at Duluth East High School on March 29. Show up or step down.
