MT. IRON- Close but no kewpie doll was the refrain for last week’s North Woods softball outings as the team dropped a pair of road contests at Mt. Iron-Buhl on Thursday and Silver Bay on Wednesday.
MIB and North Woods have squared off in some spirited games in recent seasons, and Thursday’s tilt was another big battle. MIB came out on top 9-6.
The Grizzlies had difficulty in pushing runs across the plate in a 5-1 loss.
