TOWER- Lloyd McIntire has been named as this year’s Fourth of July parade marshal. Lloyd was chosen for this long career in the Tower business community, as well as his strong record of community service to this community and the wider world.
Lloyd ran Northern Insulation Inc. in Tower for over 30 years. Since retiring, he made his love of woodworking into his new job. He is a regular vendor at the Tower Farmers Market selling intricately designed wooden cutting boards that feature dozens of native woods.
Over the years, he has been a steady volunteer at the Tower Food Shelf and Habitat for Humanity, as well as many volunteer roles at his church in Tower. He also likes to share his love for woodworking, including spending time teaching students at Vermilion Country School.
He expanded his volunteer work raising funds for Recycled Lives, a Minnesota-based charity that works with families in Guatemala, building simple housing for homeless families, and providing support for children. Lloyd crafts crosses from reclaimed wood that he sells as a fundraiser for this international ministry.
