Rebecca Otto is a good public servant, doing her job, looking out for the public interest. Her concerns about financial and environmental (which end up being financial) mining assurances are very valid.
Have you noticed that a mutually agreed upon financial assurance agreement deadline of Sept. 1 has already been missed by the Clarke Group, the latest savior over at the rusting ESSAR fiasco? And now, the Clarke Group is suing Cleveland Cliffs.... Sounds to me like a convenient diversion.
Solid financial and environmental assurances are a necessity.
