REGIONAL— U.S. Steel has announced it will serve as the title sponsor for the 2025 Pan Continental Curling Championships, coming to Virginia and Eveleth in October. Their announcement of the $100,000 sponsorship came at an event with officials from World Curling and local and state officials in Virginia.
The event, never before held in the U.S., is expected to bring 40 teams from 25 countries, and will shine an international spotlight on the Iron Range. The competition is set to take place Oct. 19-26.
“As a state known for its cold winters and love of winter sports, I’m proud that Minnesota — and our Iron Range — will host the 2025 Pan Continental Curling Championships,” said IRRRB Commissioner Ida Rukavina at the recent announcement. “With nearly 50 curling clubs and a rich history rooted in the sport, our state is honored to welcome an international event that celebrates athleticism and community. We are grateful to U.S. Steel for their generous contribution. Their investment underscores what Minnesotans already know — that the Iron Range is a place where tradition, innovation, and opportunity come together.”
