Boundary Waters Choral Festival

Choir students from Tower-Soudan, Babbitt-Embarrass and Ely joined together on Wednesday, April 21 for a joint choir performance at the Babbitt School. Students spent the entire day in rehearsal and workshops prior to the 7 p.m. performance. Each choir performed the pieces they had worked on for the choir competition, and then the three choirs joined together, 70 voices strong, for two new songs under the direction of Dr. Matthew Faerber, from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Students from each school also performed in smaller groups, showcasing performances that have earned a trip to the state choir competition.

Rolf Anderson, Marcia Homer and Wayne Marshall held workshop sessions during the day. Michael Rouse directs the Babbitt-Embarrass and Tower-Soudan choirs, and Adam Gruendemann directs the Ely Choir.
