Grizzlies drop road match to Greenway

REGIONAL- North Woods closed out its regular season with a four-set loss at Greenway on Tuesday, finishing with a 16-10 record heading into next week’s Section 7A volleyball tournament.
The Grizzlies bounced back from a 25-18 opening-set loss to even the match with a 29-27 win in the second. Greenway regained control with a 25-19 win in the third and finished off the match 25-17 in the fourth.
Laurin Glass paced North Woods with 12 kills and 19 digs, while Michaela Brunner contributed five kills, 15 digs, and two ace serves. Kayla Dougherty added 16 digs and a team-high three aces, and Tessa Burnett also recorded 16 digs.
Carsyn Burnett directed the offense with 29 set assists and added two blocks. LaNara Guenther led at the net with three blocks, while Ella Kruse chipped in two blocks and two aces.
The Grizzlies now await the start of section tournament play next week.
