Competing at home against Two Harbors-Silver Bay last Thursday, NR-E couldn’t quite keep pace without top swimmer Lily Tedrick, who didn’t take part in the meet.
But a number of NR-E swimmers helped fill the void as they took firsts in several events. Morgan McClelland edged TH-SB’s Ava Oswald-Swenson in the 200 Free by just .07 seconds, with a time of 2:21.13. McClelland also edged Erica Kaczrowski by less than two seconds in the 500 Free with a time of 6:34.92.
Kelly Thompson topped the field in the 100 Back with a time of 1:16.71, while teammate Maggie Dammann finished second with a time of 1:19.66. Anna Larson added a first place finish for NR-E in the 100 Fly, with a time of 1:17.97.
Competing in the 200 Medley Relay, McClelland, Larson, Thompson, and DeBeltz topped the field with a time of 2:17.80, more than ten seconds ahead of the competition.
“The girls are doing great,” said Head Coach Cheri DeBeltz. “They’re building confidence and experience with every meet and race.”
