The Big Fish of Lake Vermilion

June 11th, 2011: Fred Belay, from Eau Claire, WI (born and raised in Virginia, MN) has been fishing Vermilion from his family cabin since he can remember. Finally, at age 70, he lands this 8 lb 1 oz 28 inch walleye with Dr. Dave Griegle manning the landing net. Congratulations Fred!!
July 6, 2011: Pat MacMillan, from Ely, MN. caught this trophy walleye on Lake Vermilion in the early evening after a day at work. 27 3/4 inches, 8 pounds 7 ounces, it's the biggest he's ever caught on Lake Vermilion. Congratulations Pat!!
