What is fascism?

I generally don’t believe in recycling part of an old letter to the Timberjay but I hope that the editor will reprint the definition of fascism from the American Heritage Dictionary.
Fascism:  A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merger of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism.
When it comes to advising others how to vote I recall an event from 1960.  I went along with Mom to mass, and after the sermon the priest said “The church does not tell you how to vote but you know, John F. Kennedy is a Catholic.”
In that spirit let me say, I’m not going to tell you how to vote but you know, Donald J. Trump is a fascist.
