Where has our common sense gone?

Posted

There used to be a thing called common sense.  People looked each other in the eye, heard what they had to say, talked it over with people they trusted, determined for themselves what made sense and whether they needed to get involved.
They acted accordingly.
The current kerfuffle over young people and their gender has led to needless concern over their possible participation in organized sports.
The NCAA president estimates there are 510,000 young adults participating in college athletics, yet he testified that, to his knowledge, fewer than ten of them identify as transgender.  That’s .0000196.  That’s four zeroes there, before you even get to a number.  Apply that to an absolutely full Huntington Bank Stadium with 50,805 people in it.  The result is .995778— or less than one person!  Granted this could be interpreted to mean there’s one person in there somewhere with a tiny bit missing, but compared to all the other surgeries for appendectomies, knees, shoulders and tonsils in the audience, I doubt very much that this is worth yelling about.
How about if we just let the kids decide, leave them alone, and let them play?  It’s their game.  If this is a problem, it’s theirs, not ours
