Dr. Anthony P. Bastianelli

Dr. Anthony P. “Tony” Bastianelli, DO, 49, of Cook, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, surrounded by his family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia with Rev. Fr. Brandon Moravitz as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
To honor Tony’s commitment to his children and their future, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the education funds established for his sons. Memorials may be sent in care of Landmark Funeral Home, 402 S 5th Ave., Virginia, MN 55792.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Miettunen Bastianelli of Cook; sons, Dominic and Gino; parents, Patrick and Kathleen of Mt. Iron; sister, Tina (Tom) Shear of Chanhassen; brothers-in-law, Mike Wilde of Maplewood and Jared Miettunen of Eden Prairie; in-laws, Steve and Carol Miettunen of Virginia; sister-in-law, Ashley (Ben) Johnson of Tower; and several cherished nieces and nephews.
