An elderly male driver from Ely
returning from Hibbing hit a patch of ice on his way through Tower on Wednesday, which caused his vehicle to spin out, striking three other vehicles that were parked on Main Street before coming to a stop.
The incident prompted a quick response from the Minnesota State Patrol and the new sprint medics from the Virginia Fire Department, who are now serving the Tower-Lake Vermilion area.
Excessive speed appears to have played a role in the incident.
