Renewable energy keeps advancing despite Trump’s claims

Posted

President Trump believes that solar energy is the “scam of the century” and that wind power is “ugly.”  He is using all his various powers to assure that all energy resources are dependent on oil and gas, which are the worst pollutants causing climate change destruction. Nevertheless, the electric sourcing companies are anxious to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels sources due to the uncertainties of fuel shipments due to wars, and the gyrating prices, plus political instability.  In addition, the price of renewables has declined below fossil fuels.
It should be noted that the Swiss have a pilot project in progress placing solar panels between train rails.  It has proven enough so far that Italy, France, and Korea are evaluating the concept.
If the concept is proven to be viable, the U.S. could greatly benefit from it.  The U.S. has 140,000 miles of railroad tracks.
It should be further noted that a company, Aptera Motors, has developed a prototype solar car.  As one test driver said, “I passed gas stations knowing that the sun was filling my “tank” free of charge.”
