TOWER — The Breitung Police Department is still asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Tower man, Derek Lerfald.
Lerfald was last seen at approximately midnight on Saturday, March 21, leaving the Vermilion Housing Apartment complex on the 100 block of Cedar St. in Tower and has not been observed or heard from since.
Police Chief Dan Reing said there is still an active investigation underway.
“We chased down all the leads we were given, but all the leads we got were false,” Reing said, adding that anyone with a sighting or tip is asked to contact the Breitung Police.
Lerfald left the parking lot at Vermilion Housing traveling southbound on foot wearing a dark colored baseball hat, dark long sleeve shirt, and dark pants. Lerfald did not have a phone with him. He is described as 5’6” and approximately 160 pounds with grey hair and grey beard.
“We ask that Tower residents check their house and business cameras during the time he went missing,” Breitung Police Chief Dan Reing said. “If anyone has any information, please contact the Breitung Police Department at 218-753-6660 or 911.”
