Marcella Rooney

Marcella “Marcy” Zollar Rooney, 93, of Duluth, formerly of Soudan, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Diamond Willow Memory Care in Proctor where she resided the last few months of her life. A family Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Duluth, and internment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Tower, next to her husband Jerry and son Tim. Arrangements are by Dougherty Funeral Home of Duluth.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Yernatich; grandchildren, Marisa (Jake) Williams, Megan Yernatich, Joseph (Sidney) Yernatich, Olivia Rooney, Morgan (Nick) Moore and Aiden Rooney; great grandchildren, Weston, Ella and Beau Williams, Blakely Yernatich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
