TOWER— Mandy Northrup, 42, of Tower, is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on two felony charges relating to the discharge of a firearm in her apartment, on the second floor of the Frandsen Bank building.
At approximately 5:55 p.m., Breitung Police, with assistance from St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a call of gunshots being fired.
Upon further investigation, Northrup was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm and booked into the St. Louis County Jail. There were no injuries, although the incident did cause damage to the apartment.
The St. Louis County jail roster reports Northrup is being held on $30,000 bail, with no projected release date. Charges include dangerous weapon-discharge firearm-endangering safety, and weapon-dangerous weapon-discharge firearm. Both are felony-level offenses. As of Nov. 19, Northrup was still being held at the jail.
“This was an isolated incident, and the public is not in any danger at this time,” wrote police chief Dan Reing.
